“Art begins with observation—not just of the world, but of yourself within it.”

I am currently a sessional instructor at MacEwan University, where I teach Drawing for Illustration as part of the Design Studies program. My course focuses on helping students develop strong foundational drawing skills, with an emphasis on line quality, gesture, construction, and creative problem-solving through illustration.
Whether students are drawing from life or imagination, I encourage a thoughtful, process-oriented approach to their work—one that builds both technical skill and personal voice.
If you're curious about the program or courses offered, you can explore more through the MacEwan University Design Studies Course Descriptions.

Workshops & Speaking Engagements
I am not currently offering any public workshops or retreats, but when new opportunities are scheduled, they’ll be posted here. Email subscribers are always the first to hear about upcoming classes and events. Currently, my schedule can only accomodate a few of public workshops a year.
If you represent an arts organization and are interested in hosting a workshop, retreat, or speaking engagement, please get in touch using the contact form below. I offer a variety of courses, including:
- Coloured Pencil: Nature Textures (4–6 evenings or 2–3 full days)
- Drawing from Observation (custom length)
(1 full day)
- Coloured Pencil Intensive(1–3 full days or half-day options available)
- Nature Journaling (1–3 full days or half-day options available)
These are just a few suggested offerings—I'm happy to develop custom workshops tailored to your group's interests, experience level, or specific focus.
Workshops are designed to be warm, relaxed, and supportive environments that welcome adult artists of all experience levels. Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned creative, there's space for you here.
