One of my favorite events of the year! The Edmonton Whyte Avenue Artwalk. It's rows and rows of Edmonton artists all selling and creating artwork. Old Strathcona will become an outdoor studio and gallery space all in one! My hope is to be in the same spot as last year, in the Gazebo Park across from Trans Alta Arts Barn.

Quiet Moments Solo Exhibition

  • Stanley A. Milner Library

Quiet Moments will be at the Milner Gallery, in the downtown public library. Show will be April 1-30, 2016.

Quiet moments is a show based on images surrounding the lives of women - the peaceful moments that creep in amongst the chaos of our lives. Stopping to admire ones’ garden, holding her baby after she’s rocked him to sleep, reading a book in the evening: moments that lead the viewer away from their deadlines and into something softer, filled with hope. Each piece will be hand carved on wood panels and painted in acrylics - all because texture is such an utterly delightful thing to experience. As the light changes throughout the day and into the night the mood of the relief carvings shift, thus making each experience a new one.

Salon Series Show - Gallery 501

  • Gallery 501

I'll have 2 pieces in this exhibition - Victoria & Adeline. Both are hand-carved pieces on wood, painted in acrylics. I will be attending the opening reception if you'd like to meet me (see below for dates). Come see the art, there are many local pieces and lots of student art in the mix as well.

From Gallery 501 website:

"The Strathcona Salon Series Acquisitions & Loans exhibition will showcase Strathcona County’s talented local artists. The gallery@501 art exhibit opens to the public on Friday, May 15, 2015 and the Unveiling Reception will be on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
The Strathcona Salon Series consists of original artwork in various media, submitted by local artists and brought to Strathcona County’s gallery@501 for adjudication. Submissions for Strathcona County’s Permanent Art Collection will be juried by three art professionals who maintain their practice outside of the County.
In 1987, Strathcona County Council approved the creation of the Permanent Art Collection to encourage and support local artists. The members of the Permanent Art Collection Committee are appointed by Council and are responsible for collecting artwork from local artists and displaying the artworks in County owned buildings and properties. Presently, the Collection houses 231 artworks."
