New Blog and New Website!

It's been too long since I've had the chance to sit down with a mug of steaming tea (preferably mint) to ponder what artwork I might like to post! Life has thrown many unexpected curves lately. My mom was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumour in February and in March underwent extensive surgery to remove a tumour the size of an orange from her brain. There was lots to do during recovery, including visiting the hospital daily as well as going home for two weeks to take care of her after she was released. She's doing fantastic which is a relief and this means that I was able go home and once again attempt to juggle my illustration career and the tasks of being a stay-at-home mom.
Attached is a photo (rather bad photo I must admit) of two thank you cards I drew for my mom as special cards for her class (she's a teachers assistant) and for my aunt, who made the rest of the thank you cards. It was fun to crack out the pencil crayons... only doodling on red paper can really boogle the eyes!

Congratulations - the new website and blog look fantastic! I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, but glad that she's on the mend. You always amaze me with how much you accomplish juggling a little one and life in general. Hooray!
Hey Crystal, ooph, that must have been so hard with your mom, I can't even imagine, I hope she's made a full recovery. The thank-you cards are adorable and I'm loving the new site! Best wishes :)
